The third time is a charm for this team; in its third visit to the FHSAA State Championship Series, the Lady Pride has captured the state title.
The quest for the title began on Tuesday with an exciting 41-39 victory against defending state-champion Florida A&M University High School. The Lady Pride then played in the state championship game against Sarasota Christian on Thursday.
Despite the loss of senior Vionise Pierre-Louis to a devastating knee injury just seconds into the second quarter, the Lady Pride pulled out a 45-32 victory over Sarasota Christian, led by the efforts of senior Neydja Petithomme.
